Inspired by the Science of Movements taught for centuries in secluded Dervish brotherhoods, as well as yoga, tai chi chuan, and more recently-developed methods such as eurythmy and stretching, Samadeva Gestural Euphony is a gentle, or rather non-violent psycho-corporal practice. It has beneficial effects on the functioning of our organs, muscle system, concentration, and memory, and on our physical and psychological equilibrium as a whole. Beyond our usual way of perceiving things, our movements and gestures are the expression of our emotions and our most fundamental impulses; and conversely, certain movements are capable of influencing our moods.
The practice of euphonic movements refines and transforms the contents of our unconscious, exercising a harmonizing effect upon our entire organism. The movements attenuate stress resulting from the demands of our fast-paced modern life, regularize the functioning of our different organs, and heighten our capacities of concentration, memory, and coordination. We rediscover calm within ourselves, and this in turn liberates our creative capacities.
The participant learns to listen to his inner being, to other people, and to his environment around him, and he begins to discover how he really functions, progressing in this way toward genuine self-knowledge.
This practice of attentiveness in the movements also permits us to significantly reduce the level of our physical and psychological pain.
